A Tech Boss: The Real Housewives of AI

Hello, Buddy!

A lot is going on in the tech space right now. But the biggest drama has to be around the name on everyone’s lips — Sam Altman.

Now, OpenAI shared a post on X this morning saying Sam Altman will be coming back home, and the question is: have the board members who started the entire episode really stepped aside??

Bruhh, let's just make a reality show out of this already😅

Anyway, like someone said: Roses are red, violets are blue, in all that you do, just leave the ChatGPT free version up and working!

In Today’s Email:

  1. Still keeping up with AI

  2. NUTM wants to become the MIT of Nigeria

  3. You should be at Tech Connect Lagos this December

THE BIG IDEA

Still Keeping Up with AI

So, when Sam Altman was fired, the board claimed “…he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities.”

A closer look, however, reveals that it was due to discrepancies that arose from Sam’s insistence on AI regulation, stating that the world might be moving towards a scary era of generative AI.

Sam has been saying this stuff since 2015, just as long as the conversation around AI taking over major human functions has been going on. He’s pretty much advocating for AI governance just to keep the world safe from the extremes in the future.

And I think he has a point. It really won’t be a big deal if AI is adequately regulated or what do you think?
