What works

Nothing works well. The boss uses derogatory words on staffs. Turns staffs against each other and sacks them for no good reason. It's a toxic place that messes with your mental health, not forgetting he indulges in favouritism.

What does not

No Hmo, no leave, no pension and no 13th month. The staffs are entitled to no benefits at all. It's not a structured office. What you're told to do does not align with your job description. It's not a place for you to grow professionally.

Joined through a recruitment company. Thought I was going to learn more on the job and grow professionally but I was wrong. Everything about that place reeks of time wastage. No matter how much you try to do your best, the boss must always have with your work. No forgetting that if you make the mistake of telling the boss something personal, he uses it against you and hurls insults on you.

What works

Nothing works there...not a structured organisation. Your salary and benefit in that organisation is based on Favouritism. Pay structure is not transparent. Long-serving employees are often paid less than new joiners in similar roles. Management is inconsistent, very pleasant on the surface, but quite toxic in day-to-day operations.

What does not

No HMO, No Pension, No leave, No 13th Month... Just Housing Allowance which is not up to what you pay for a One bedroom in Lagos Nigeria. The Boss frequently uses derogatory language on staff, and his mood dictates the atmosphere for the whole office. When he is angry everyone is on edge.

Their story

I joined the job through a recruitment consultant and initially decided to stay because I believed it was a great place to grow. However, over time I noticed a very strong culture of favouritism from the MD and it was quite open. It became clear that growth was not based on merit, and i felt it was best for me to move on to an environment were performance and fairness are valued.
