Hello, Buddy!
Have you heard how alleged scam artists are running ads and posing as real brands on TikTok? They’re even offering “too-good-to-be-true” deals to manipulate innocent viewers like you. Also, they went as far as featuring celebrities like Selena Gomez and Jennifer Anniston!
It’s important to be cautious when you see such ads, because if something seems too good to be true, then it probably is. If you can’t verify the ad is legit, it’s best you swipe, forget about it altogether, and go about your day.
I hope this helps and you don’t end up a victim.

THE BIG IDEA
Great But Not So Great
Do you know the Cerave brand? Yeah, one of the most popular skincare brands in the world. Everyone thought they pulled a good one on us this week and I'll tell you all about it.
So a video went viral of a man named Michael Cera walking down a street with two huge bags of Cerave lotion. People could have decided to mind their business, but this wasn't just any man, Michael is an actor and a musician who has a great fan base.
Next, a creator @haleyybaylee posted a video of her casually going to a pharmacy to restock her skincare products and she “coincidentally” sees Michael Cera at the same pharmacy signing autographs on Cerave bottles.
She's surprised because he's a celebrity and captions the video “Guys, run to this pharmacy in BK, I just saw Michael CERA signing bottles!!”
Another creator @lukasbattle, also shared a video of a gift he received from Cerave with Michael's signature on it.
If you haven't already figured it out by now, this was an ad campaign that nobody may have easily guessed and Cerave began receiving kudos online for using confusion to promote their products.
But shockingly, Cerave disagreed, saying they had no affiliation with the videos going around and they work with dermatologists to sell, not Michael's unofficial endorsement.
I find this funny because how do you randomly wake up and go to such lengths without the brand's permission? Do you think Micheal's stunt was wise?

STORY OF THE WEEK
Why I Regret Going To School For A Degree In Digital Marketing
Someone started a conversation on Reddit on “Why you should never get a degree in digital marketing”, and you should see the interesting replies….
“Yes I went to school for marketing with an emphasis in digital marketing, and yes I do digital marketing as a full-time career.
Now why would I recommend that someone doesn't go into digital marketing at their local university, while also still doing marketing for a living? Well from my personal experience, I always felt college digital marketing courses were lacking in depth and were very outdated.
I went to a 4 year university and many of the digital marketing classes I took were very basic and at the depths of the class was very minor keyword research.
Now I don't blame them because..
