How You Can Network Smartly
During the course of your career, you must have noticed how crucial it is to have a strong network of mentors, partners, and customers who can support you along the way.
You’ve seen how startups can go from low income to insane revenue simply from meeting the right people.
When you look at Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn, you'd notice a pattern.
Reid's vision was to create a professional network for connecting people with opportunities. He didn’t even know how to go about it except messaging his existing network of contacts to recruit his co-founders, employees, and early users.
This one act was how Reid grew his user base organically without spending heavily. Next, he partnered with other companies to expand his reach. And that was how Reid connected with investors, who accelerated his business and eventually, LinkedIn went global.
Without Reid’s solid network, You and I may never have known the influential platform LinkedIn.
An average person networks casually, but the best way to leave a lasting impression on anyone is by taking Forbes advice.
This blog post has also broken down everything on networking for you.
Networking may not always be easy. It takes effort and skill. That’s why you need to connect smartly and strategically.

Will You Handle the Messy Moments?
"When I worked in the NHS, I took part in an investigation about a poo on the floor. A patient had missed the bog, so it sat on the floor.
The nurses said they were too busy and couldn't clean it up, but the cleaner could. The cleaners said they couldn't touch a biological waste.
The healthcare assistant said they couldn't do it, because they hadn't been signed off on the infection control policy. This reached a sister who said the student nurse should do it.
The student nurse vomited and ran out crying. I was in the building at the time and heard all the fuss so I thought, for fuck's sake, and cleaned it up myself. I got reported, because I was just a manager and not clinical so I wasn’t allowed.”
Chances are, you’ve witnessed a situation at work where everyone avoids a particular duty, how can you manage this as a founder?

“The mark of a good conversationalist is not that you can talk a lot. The mark is that you can get others to talk a lot. Thus, good schmoozers are good listeners, not good talkers.”
