Feedback Doesn’t Have To Be Annoying!
So, it’s recently come to my attention that some people hate giving or receiving feedback for whatever reason and I just wanted to make sure you aren’t one of those people 🤨
Now, obviously, the way feedback is delivered makes a huge difference in the way it’s received which is why it’s extremely important to practice mindfulness when you’re giving feedback.
You’re probably more on the receiving end of feedback than the delivering side but since I can’t tell your superiors how to give you feedback I can only tell you how to take it like a pro.
The most important tip I could possibly give you about receiving feedback is not to take it personally. Regardless of the tone it’s delivered in, for the most part, it’s intended to be constructive, so try your best to always view it in that light.
Trust me, I’ve had my fair share of “feedback” that wasn’t delivered in the kindest way, and I’d get so upset, but with time, I’ve figured out that “it’s not what’s said, but how you react to it.” Just use that one to hold body next time someone’s feedback makes you want to deaf them.
If my mantra doesn’t work for you, I have some more tips on how to receive feedback like a pro…
